Rainbow’s die, just like everything else.
It wasn’t long before the sun started to set, but despite its rays the snowflakes still fell, creating a white blanket upon the city one girl called home.
Sighing, she ran her hand through her hair, annoyed about its long length as it always fell in front of her face, obscuring her view. She had to constantly flip it back, which made her feel uncomfortable.
She looked out below her flat, focusing on the people that seemed so small as she was so high up. She loathed how everyone was so happy, what was there to be happy about when all the world did was bring misery?
Blinking back a fresh set of tears she stood up, flipping her hair back with an annoyed sigh. Slowly, she walked out of her bedroom and into the living area, standing in front of a set of patio doors that lead on to the balcony.
She closed her eyes as she opened the sliding doors, sharply taking in a breath as the cold wind hit her, blowing her hair back so it was no longer in her face. She took a small step, her foot sinking into the cold, untouched snow. She shivered as some snowflakes fell on her neck, but she continued to walk forward despite the cold.
Her pale hands grasped the railing tightly as she came to a stop, looking out over at the people on the streets once more. Her hair fell back into her face as she looked down, looking as if she was making a small calculation in her head.
Finally after she had pulled away she swung her leg over, soon followed by her other. Her hands on the railing, which were now behind her, were her only support from falling.
Her hair almost covered her face completely as she hung her head, a slightly troubled smile twitching at the corners of her lips. How many people would care if she decided to let go? What kind of reaction would people have when she hit the ground?
It didn’t matter, she had no one left that cared about her. The only person left that bared any resemblance to her was her father, and she even failed to avenge him. She was useless, and had no purpose in a world like this.
”Rainbow, you will look at me when I’m talking to you!” the little girl winced at her father’s tone, unable to help the stream of tears that refused to stop falling down her cheeks.
“What’s wrong with mum, why isn’t she moving?” The raven-haired girl managed to choke out in a strained whisper.
The tall man closed his eyes, refusing to look at her. Rainbow slammed her fists down onto the floor in rage.
“Why aren’t you doing anything? She needs help!” Rainbow cried out. Her voice was louder, but still strained.
After a long, eerie silence, it hit the young girl like a ton of bricks.
“Y-you…” She blinked, her eyes scanning his face for an answer, watching his every movement. She suddenly jumped up and screamed in fear and anger.
Move. Move god damn it! She ran past her father, pushing him aside in the process.
“Please don’t kill me!” She screamed out in desperation as she ran out onto the empty street.
She stopped in her tracks and went whiter than the snow when she came face to face with her father.
He looked at her, his emotions sealed away in the ice-cold eyes that looked just like his daughter’s.
“You’re not even worth killing.” He clenched his fist and punched her in the stomach, causing her to let out a choked breath as she slipped away into darkness.
That memory had carried her away from the balcony and she was now in her room, sitting on her bed, her head in her hands, but she refused to cry.
She often wondered how far she could push herself. How far she could actually go before she would turn back. Turns out that it wasn’t very far.
She clenched her fists, glaring at them as she gritted her teeth. She was weak.
“Why are you weak?” She muttered to herself, her voice was barely above a whisper, but she still refused to cry despite the fact that she could feel the tears stinging at the back of her eyes, trying to force their way through.
Resting her head on the pillow and looking at the ceiling, she made no attempt to push the continuous memories of her past away from her mind. In fact, she let them slowly carry her into a troubled and disturbed sleep.

Rainbow slowly opened her eyes and looked around. Why she did not know, it wasn’t as if she was expecting someone to be there.
Carelessly she swung her legs over the bed and stood up before walking over to her wardrobe. She pulled on a jumper, not bothering with a shirt and changed her trousers from red to black.
Without cleaning up the heap of clothes on the floor or bothering to close the wardrobe, she left the room. Once again standing in front of the patio doors, sliding them open and taking a step outside.
It was still slightly dark, the sun rising just in the distance, sending a blue glow over the empty streets. It was silent and almost peaceful. Rainbow sighed and took a deep breath, amused by the atmosphere.
Her hands gripped the railing once more, which had been recovered with snow since she was here the previous day. Enjoying the cold on her palms, she swung her legs over, one after the other.
It was colder than yesterday, but she liked the cold. Especially the cold, bitter chill that the wind carried on winter mornings.
She hung her head again, looking down at the empty street below her. I wonder if anyone will miss me…
Her hand loosened its grip, and she finally let go. Her raven hair falling behind her as she fell, her red eyes closed.
The icy wind sliced through her like a knife, but for some reason Rainbow found that comforting. The fall seemed to take longer than expected.
A smile broke out onto her pale face. She finally felt at peace.
